Institute Day (According to Wordle)

We just received our agenda for Monday’s all-district institute day. The main focus of the day is creating a series of district-wide, course-specific benchmark summative assessments.

I popped the agenda into Wordle just to see how it looks. Pretty interesting. But I’d feel a little better about this if the word students had appeared somewhere.

“How is this helping us to better serve the needs of our students?” is a key question that should be at the heart of any professional development.

What do you think are the most important ideas or guiding principles to keep in mind when designing professional development experiences? Thanks.

    Very clever and insightful.

I am so glad I read this today. It is a terrific reminder of our purpose. I always get nervous kicking off our institute days knowing that we all would rather be teaching.

I love how “meet,” “meeting,” and “meetings” are three separate entries. This sheds light on a lot of things. Thanks, Gary!
